Regular honory membership

Its been a full 2 years since I last did this...

My weekend got of to a rather different start as I was asked to be part of the Friday night "build the quilt stands" crew.  Not often I get to unload a flatbed truck load of woodwork on a Friday night.
And once unloaded they all needed to be assembled.
Why is it that men can always tighten a wing nut one more turn than I can?
Anyway all wingnuts fully tightened to prevent and 'elf and safety worries we patted ourselves on the back for a good two hours work and went home.

8am saw us back at the church and hanging quilts... Mum, Betty and I got stuck in with creating the Linus corner...this year with a "washing line" theme...

There's a font under there somewhere....

I really do think the body of the church is a spectacular place to display quilts, the sunlight through the windows really is a magical effect...

There were also plenty of little projects decorating the altar...

There were projects inspired by the Rivers of blood poppy display at the tower of London...

And a lovely Christmas themed area behind the altar...

The overall theme of "Rags to Riches" brought on some interesting interpretations of recycling...

how many things can you make from Jeans?
From Coffee bags to tote bags....

Its amazing what you can make with bottle tops...

And there is a fair amount of evidence that more than one club member has been collecting buttons...

And by 4pm the denim tombola was bare - it sold through so quickly I didn't get a photo! the sales table was equally ravaged. The Walsall branch of the Polio Fellowship seemed very happy with their £500 donation and the opportunity to auction a quilt in 2016.
And around 40 quilters packed away the quilts and the wooden frames back to the flatbed truck.
Same time again in 2017?
